Disclosures

How sponsorships work here.

Some of our content is produced with brand partners. That's how a season of family travel content gets funded. Here is exactly how we keep that honest.

Every sponsorship is disclosed, in the content

If a brand paid us, gave us product, or hosted a stay, we say so in the content itself: spoken or shown where the integration happens, plus noted in descriptions and companion guides. Not buried on a legal page (this page is a summary, not the disclosure), and never left for you to guess.

No partner edits a score

Every destination, campground, and product we feature is rated on the same standardized scorecard, and those scores are ours alone. Sponsored visits are disclosed and never change a number. Payment buys placement and disclosure; it never buys the verdict. A guaranteed-glowing review nobody believes is worth nothing, to you or to the sponsor.

The review firewall

Our editorial policy is part of every partnership agreement, in writing: partners don't get to preview scores, approve conclusions, or edit reviews. They can correct factual errors about their own product (a spec, a price, a name). Nothing else. If a product fails on camera, that stays in the episode. If a partnership would require softening a verdict, we don't take the partnership.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site and in episode descriptions are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships are disclosed where the links appear. We only link products we genuinely use or have honestly reviewed.

In-kind support

Sometimes support arrives as product or stays rather than cash. In-kind support is treated exactly like payment: it's disclosed, and it never changes a score.

Questions

Wondering whether something was sponsored, or how a specific review came together? Ask us: hello@basecampbound.com. We'd rather over-answer than have you wonder.
